Does the PDF have a watermark?

No. Nothing is added to the pages except the page number in the footer. There is no paid tier, so there is nothing to remove.

Is my Markdown file uploaded?

No. The file is read with your browser's File API, rendered on your device, and the PDF is built on your device with the pdfmake library. There is no upload and no server-side step.

Is the text in the PDF selectable?

Yes. The converter writes real text into the PDF rather than taking a screenshot of the preview, so you can select, search and copy the text, and links are clickable.

How do I convert an .md file to PDF?

Can I use my browser's Save as PDF instead?

Yes. The Print / Save as PDF button opens your browser's print dialog with a clean print layout of the preview, where most browsers offer Save as PDF. The Download PDF button is the one-click option and gives you page numbers and a fixed page size.

Which fonts are used?

Helvetica for text and Courier for code, the standard fonts built into every PDF reader, so a Latin document embeds no fonts and downloads none. Text in other scripts uses open-source fonts, Noto and Amiri: Cyrillic and Greek (143 KB), Hindi and other Devanagari text (77 KB), Arabic (166 KB, joined and right-to-left), Hebrew, Thai, Bengali, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam (24 to 63 KB each), Chinese, Japanese and Korean (2.6 to 4.3 MB) and black-and-white emoji (553 KB). Only the files your document needs are fetched, from this site, the first time you export; nothing is sent anywhere.

Is there a file size limit?

Files up to 10 MB are accepted, which is far larger than a typical README or notes file. Long documents take a few seconds to build.
